Thanks, TomS, this concise article with examples helped me a lot to set up a django site on Ubuntu server 10.10.

I used “apt-get python-django” to install django, and in this case, /usr/bin/django-admin was already available and linking by “ln -s … ” was not necessary.

Nice article, really help me, thanks.
But I think your posted virtual host configuration is corrupted. There are missing VirtualHost and Location config.

The scripts provide you a couple of packages db/files which are easy to restore if something goes wrong with the site.

In the plugin option, suppose your site gets wiped out, it’s not clear how you can restore the whole… I’d stick with the scripts option.
